Scott and I liked this place so much we went back twice during our visit to Paso Robles. They have a fantastic, moderately priced wine on the menu so we split a bottle with our table. Try Fat Monk and be pleasantly surprised!
Kat and I were feeling fall in the air and both went for the Acorn Squash Soup. It was delicious after an unhealthy dousing of salt. It just really needed it!
Kat went with the vegetable overload, also known as the Spinach and Feta Rigatoni. Full of spinach, broccoli, artichoke hearts, red peppers, olives, green beans and snow peas. Holy moly, that just sounds too healthy for its own good. But Kat loved it and swore it was worth the order.
I ordered the delicious Salmon with oven roasted potatoes again. The delicate cream sauce with a bite of spinach is just my idea of heaven. It is not overly fussy just the stuff I like to eat. This dish comes highly recommended.
Mr. Scott Good Taste ordered a Seafood Cobb Salad and I must admit it really did look delicious. The amount of crab, shrimp, bacon, hard boiled egg made up for most of the salad and I felt you really got more than your moneys worth.
Our gluten free eater in the bunch, Amanda was so happy that they had a menu suited to her dietary needs. She ordered off the gluten free menu and received the same dish as Kat's however minus the regular pasta and substituted with the non wheat variety. It is pretty cool that they have whole menus dedicated to this.
Now onto the bad stuff... Amanda ordered the Molten Chocolate Cake made gluten free of course. She said it was excellent, even to the non GF consumer.
I of course had the Creme Brulle, along with Kat. We both agreed it rivaled any place in town.
Scott had a good old fashioned Sundae.
We make a pretty good group. This was a really lovely meal shared with good friends. It was not overly expensive so get on down there so you can experience the same happiness that we did.
