Ventura Winter Wine Walk - Ventura, CA

The Ventura Winter Wine Walk claimed to be the social event of the year so Kat and I decided to give it a try. We checked in and received a plastic wine glass and 12 tickets for tasting. With over 50 businesses participating you eat and drink while browsing the shops downtown. It really was an ingenious plan to get people to spend some money!

All checked in and ready to go!

Our first stop was at Aloha where we sampled a steak crostini topped with a blue cheese sauce! Holy moly. Yum!

Stopped into Peirano's to listen to some jazz and sample their famous hummus.

We wandered into The Tavern which is a gorgeous old victorian house and landmark. Sampled the required two ounce pour and wandered off in search of food.

We stopped in the El Rey Cantina and grabbed a pork taco topped with pineapple salsa.

We made it back into the square just in time to witness the "snowfall" that was being sprayed onto Main Street.

It was a fine event. I love Downtown Ventura! I am not going to lie through, I was happy to sit down to a big plate of Macadamia Mahi Mahi after we played in the fake snow. I was hungry from all that Winter Wine Walking! I hope you all enjoyed your weekend too.
