The Cheesecake Factory - San Jose, Ca

What a fabulous Saturday! The weather was beautiful so I asked my sister if she was up for a shopping trip! I had gotten paid the day before so the money was burning a hole in my pocket! I have never been to the Cheesecake Factory... ever. Can you believe it? I must live in a cave.

I thought the inside was really beautiful but, the Egyptian style decor kind of threw me... eh oh well. It was clean and chic.

Jennifer started with the bread and of course I had a cup of soup. I am slightly obsessed with soup if you could not tell by now. The soup was actually Cream of Chicken and I was pleasantly surprised. Whole chunks of all white breast meat, mushrooms, red peppers whipped with probably whole cream (gasp!) made a terrific, but kind of heavy, start to my lunch.

Ok. I know this looks like a lot of food BECAUSE it was! We over ordered. Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. Oh well! The first appetizer we ordered was Jennifer's choice of Avocado Egg rolls. These tasty egg rolls have lovely chunks of fresh avocado, sun dried tomato, red onion and cilantro. Then they are deep fried in a crisp Chinese wrapper - Love it! They are served with a terrific tamarind cashew dipping sauce - who knew I would like tamarind?! Next are the Crispy Crab Won tons... they slightly reminded me of a crab Ragoon. Fresh crab meat blended with cream cheese, green onion, water chestnuts and sweet chili sauce - fried in won ton wrappers. Got to love that "f" word... fried! They were delicious. No complaints here. And last but not least were the Thai Lettuce Wraps. It was kind of fun to mix and match and make our own lettuce "burritos". Satay chicken strips, carrots, bean sprouts, coconut curry noodles and lettuce leaves with three DELICIOUS spicy Thai sauces — Peanut, Sweet Red Chili and Tamarind Cashew. That Tamarind Cashew is out of this world, it was served with the Avocado Egg rolls as I mentioned above. To be perfectly honest with you guys, my sister and I packed up all three dishes to go because we didn't even make a dent into what we ordered!

All in all, we both felt like the Cheesecake Factory treated us right! The menu is huge! I mean vegetarian options as well as meat lover specials! Amazing. The appetizers are huge so bring your friends and order to your hearts content! There will be plenty of food! The service was stellar! The place was packed and we managed to get in, eat and get out under 45 minutes! I recommend this place to anyone. Two thumbs up from this diva!

The cheesecake factory has a lot of haters (especially on www.chowhound.com) but I love it, especially the cuban sandwich. :)
