Chili's - Gilroy, Ca

So after the Famous Dave episode we left still hungry and decided only Chili's would do the trick. So we crossed the street and pulled on in to Chili's.

We got there and it was packed... maybe because of the Famous Dave issue or maybe it was because it was Friday night yahoooooo... So we sat in the bar and it was Happy Hour! Double yeehaw. And can you believe that we all ordered a beer? Crazy. They had wine but I think it was dispensed from a box and I only drink box wine while at church so Anonymous don't go suggesting anything crazy...

Skillet Queso came quickly after ordering it...appetizing cheese dip with seasoned beef. Served with warm tostada chips. Yes! Queso.

My order came and I was excited to dive into the Southwestern Egg rolls! Smoked chicken, black beans, corn, jalapeƱo Jack cheese, red peppers and spinach wrapped inside a crispy flour tortilla is what I was getting myself into. They are served with this amazing avocado-ranch dipping sauce. The sauce is out of this world. It could be pretty much my favorite thing at Chili's.

We all must have been on a chicken kick because that is what we all ordered. To start with Nina's Grilled Chicken Sandwich... Marinated grilled chicken, applewood smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato, Substituted Swiss cheese for Jack and honey-mustard dressing. She said it was great and only ate half. Huge portion. It came with great fries that were heavily seasoned with pepper and that is alright with me! I had plenty of them dipped in the dream sauce. See above. :)
Jose ordered the Chicken Tacos. It seemed pretty standard. Tender chicken, Ranchero sauce, sour cream, cheese, lettuce & pico de gallo. Served with rice & black beans. Jose didn't eat much so I have a feeling it wasn't to die for...

And last but not least, the Strawberry Wave Cheesecake Sweet Shot. Between Nina and I we polished this bad boy off in a couple spoonfuls.

All in all, great experience. The place was hopping, I mean packed, but we still received the same service had it been empty, so that is a score! The price was around $44 and that is not too bad for three people to eat dinner and have a drink. I give Chili's 2 thumbs up for great company, decent food and wonderful atmosphere.
