Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen - Fort Worth, TX

Scott and I landed at DFW with our tummies rumbling! We were starving so as soon as my Mom found us we hightailed for something to eat. I was ravenous and when I saw a sign for Pappadeaux's off the highway I squealed with excitement because it was a "Seafood Kitchen" - my favorite!

I have never tried Alligator, have you? It was deep fried and delicious. Not bad at all, sort of like chicken! Thanks Scott for ordering it!

Kathy ordered the Grilled redfish with Maine lobster, avocado, sautéed spinach, roasted tomatoes in a white wine lemon butter sauce, with zucchini ribbons and it was delicious! I continued to eat off her plate after she was done! The best order of the night!

Blackened mahi mahi with shrimp, scallops and crawfish in a white wine cream sauce, with dirty rice. This was my order but somehow got switched up and Scott ate it. Halfway through the meal we realized it and switched back! It was ok. My mom's was still the winner.

This is me with Scott's order the Catfish and Crawfish Combo served with Dirty Rice. It was too blah for me. Scott took it back to hotel room but I am not sure if it was worth it.

I am glad I finally got the opportunity to dine here. Their menu has so many creative items on it, I cannot wait to try it again and eat my way through the menu!

Hello Texas!

Off for a foodie vacation and my Mom's birthday!

Acupuncture - I did that!

I have had this bizarre pain in my shoulder blade area since I started running. I am not sure if it is from tension, dehydration or something else but Scott swears by his acupuncturist so I gave it a go yesterday. Dr. Lee is located in Thousand Oaks and I have to say I am a believer. I walked in with pain and left, and woke up with none at all! I am usually a skeptic about this kind of stuff so I am shocked!

Praise the lord. No pain today!

Anacapa Brewing Company II - Ventura, CA

Football Sunday! I love Fall/Winter because it means Pumpkin Beer at our favorite Brew House in Ventura. Who ever was leading at the half didn't have to buy. I love a good bet!

Jalapeno Poppers and Sweet Potato Fries - our go to bar food. The Spicy Ranch and Honey Mustard is divine!

I lost the bet. Boo!

Work it girl!

Welcome to my Gym - It is in the downstairs portion of my house. It has everything that a girl could want in a workout routine!

For a solid month I have been movin' and groovin' - I have used the treadmill like it is my religion. I shouldn't neglect my elliptical machine but I just have taken a knack to jogging. I have been enjoying Holiday treats so I feel this is the least I can do for my body!

Azu - Ojai, CA

Date night in the Weis household and we decided to keep it local. That is what is fun about Ojai, you can feel like a tourist in your home town. Welcome, Azu...

My handsome husband ordered the Moroccan Spiced Smoked Ono. Not your typical order but definitely a special! It came over chick peas and tomatoes - very protein heavy. Scott liked it but said it was totally different.

My all time favorite is always the Sea Bass with Lemon Risotto and deep fried carrots. Love, love, love. It always make me happy. I eat and eat - it takes me about 30 minutes to finish my meal!

The Dessert of the Day was a Ginger Cake. It was as dry as the Mojave but the Pistachio Geltao and lemon curd saved its life.

All and all it felt like we were on a first date and no amount of good food or kickin' booze can replicate that! Enjoy your loved one's friends!

Buster the Wonder Puppy

Buster is now 4 months old and he has started to earn his keep around here. He takes his job of working cattle very seriously. Isn't it amazing how these dogs know their job at such an early age? He will continue to work on the long line with Bobby - the Wonder Horse until he learns all his commands!  Go Buster!
